I'm BACK!

I have received several complaints about me not posting to my blog any more. What can I say? It's hard to stop and smell the roses (and get Mom to write blog posts) when you're busy having fun. Here's what I've been up to the past few months:

After my birthday came Thanksgiving and then Christmas. I got to see my grandmas and grandpas a lot over the holidays. Ma (my great-grandma) and I made a gingerbread house. I had more fun playing with the box though. I got lots of neat things for Christmas like a play kitchen, a rocking horse and a sand/water table. Mom has only let me put water in the table a few times. The rest of the time I play with dry noodles and oatmeal.

After Christmas I decided it was time to start walking and walk I did. Unfortunately that has lead to a few run-ins with some big furniture, including a grandfather clock that was trying to eat my sugar cookie. The clock gave me a big goose-egg on my head, but I was fine as soon as I got my cookie back.

I've been pretty into Mr. Potato Head lately. I love to put all the parts together. One day I went to the table where we keep my potato heads and they weren't there. I said, "no, no, no!" and looked at Mommy. She didn't seem to be much help. I looked for them again that afternoon and they still weren't there. I was beginning to think something fishy was going on. Finally Daddy found them. Mom and Dad looked a little guilty. I think they hid my potato heads because they were tired of playing with them.

I've been coloring with my crayons and painting with my paint markers. I also LOVE play-doh, and I usually ask to play with my "Dough" every day. Speaking of dough, we made sugar cookies a few weeks ago and I got to help dump the flour into the bowl, run the mixer and roll out the dough with a rolling pin. It was fun!

Other fun stuff:
  • Swimming at the indoor rec center. I love swimming and was really ticked off when we had to leave.
  • Marching to "We are the dinosaurs" -- a song I learned in my music and movement class.
  • Seeing the cows and dogs at Grandma and Pa's house! I got to pet a calf and then he tried to eat my arm. I cried and then went back to petting the calf. I got so excited that I kept getting the cows and Pa's dog Cookie mixed up because they are both black and white.
  • Going to the zoo. The animals were all cool, but the best thing was finding out that the bears get to play with BALLS.
  • Seeing balloons at the grocery store, restaurants, car dealerships --- anywhere and everywhere.
  • Dogs and bunnies. Cats are a little over-rated. They run away before I can pet them.
Since the weather has gotten a little warmer, I have gotten to go outside to swing and slide down my slide. I like checking the mail every day and taking walks up and down the sidewalk.

Here are a few photos of me in action today:

Swinging with my junk mail.

In my secret hiding place with my basket of stuff.

In the tower on my slide (with my junk mail).

Well that's all for now. I'm sleepy and need to go to bed. 'Night 'night.
