Who is this person they call the Easter Bunny?

Sunday was my very first Easter. The Easter bunny brought me a basket full of goodies and plastic eggs. Mommy and Daddy tried to explain all about this Easter Bunny guy, but I think it's really all a bunch of made up stuff because I didn't even see a bunny any where near my house. Besides, I thought chickens made eggs, not bunnies. I don't buy all of this Easter Bunny business.

We visited my Grandma, Pa, Ma, Bob-Bob and my aunts, uncles and cousins for Easter. My Uncle Chris tried to make friends with me, but I was a little suspicious until he gave me a bite of his cherry cheesecake. That was enough to win me over. I think he might be my favorite uncle now.

Here is a picture of me with inspecting (dumping) my Easter basket. I got a cool new rattle, a book and some nifty colored spoons to eat my sweet potatoes with.

Wednesday with Daddy

I thought Wednesday was going to be just another weekday around the house, but little did I know that Mommy had "things to do" so I got to spend the entire day with Daddy. The morning started out with a "nah" and the other usual morning activities. Then Daddy announced that after my second bottle we would head to town for an outing. I was all for that because hanging around the house all day gets old.

We arrived in town around 11:30 a.m. and Daddy's stomach was growling so he decided to grab a quick bite at the mall Wendy's. I watched Daddy scarf down a cheeseburger and then we were off to the Sears wing of the mall. Daddy likes to park at the Sears wing because hardly anyone is ever parked there making it a short distance to the door.

The Sears store has this great electronics section with a whole bunch of high definition televisions all viewing the same program. I was mesmerized by the sight and asked Daddy if we could setup the house that way. He didn't seem to think that was such a good idea though... Oh well.

We left Sears and headed to several stores in the mall to do some shopping. After about 45 minutes we decided it was time to head to our next destination, so we loaded up the Ford Escape and headed to the Gerbes grocery store on Nifong.

Daddy and I wanted to get Mommy some flowers to show our appreciation for everything she does for us. Mommy works at home now so she needs some flowers to brighten up the boring beige walls in her office. Daddy wasn't sure what type of flowers we should get Mommy so he looked around and weighed all options. We settled on cut red roses and six white tulips that can be planted later this season.

Unfortunately, it was now time to head home as it was too cold to take a walk outside so Daddy loaded me back into the vehicle and we headed for home. I fell asleep on the way home because after all this excitement I needed a nap. Next thing I remember Daddy was holding me and had my afternoon "nah" ready for me. I really appreciate fast service so I made sure to smile a lot as a tip to Daddy.

When Mommy got home we greeted her and told her that as an added bonus we were going to install shelving above her desk to make her office more enjoyable. Mommy made everyone some dinner and then after dinner Daddy put up Mommy's shelves for her. Mommy put her new flowers on the shelves and decided it was time for me to have a bath.

I just love baths and this one was no exception. I got in and immediately started kicking and splashing in the water. After a while the water started getting too cold so I had to get out and dry off. By this time in the evening I was starting to get a little tired so I took it easy the rest of the evening and then headed off to bed.

Time for me to sign off as I have things to do!

Out on the Town

I had a great day yesterday with Mommy. The weather was really nice so Mommy said we were going to spend the day in town having some fun instead of being stuck in the house. I'm all for being on the move!

First we met Daddy for lunch at Chipotle. Mommy and Daddy seem to eat here a lot and Mommy says it's a wonder I wasn't born a crunchy taco because she ate tacos at Chipotle 2-3 times a week when she was pregnant with me.

Our next stop was Mommy's office to visit all of the Web Commies. I even let Aunt Lelo hold me for a little while. Unfortunately our visit was cut a little short because of some yucky stuff in my diaper. I hate it when that happens. After a quick diaper change, we were off to the library to get some more Spot books.

I took a nap in the sling/wrap thingy while Mommy got my books. When I woke up it was time for a bottle so Mommy suggested we go to the park to have a picnic. I had my bottle in a place called Peace Park. There were lots of big trees and strange looking college students around. When we were done, Mommy took me for a stroller ride to see the Columns. For those of you who don't know, the Columns are these big concrete things that sort of look like "nahs" (bottles) sticking out of the ground. I don't know why anyone would want to do that, but people sure seem to like them.

Next we went to Starbucks. Mommy said she needed an iced tea and who am I to argue as long as she keeps pushing me. Lauren at Starbucks thought I was so cute she gave Mommy a free venti iced tea. Mommy said she'll have to bring me with her to Starbucks more often. ;)

We visited with Mommy's friend Jason before going to Wal-Mart. Jason is pretty funny. I laughed at his silly faces. Wal-Mart is not nearly that much fun so I took a nap in the wrap while Mommy shopped.

What a busy day!

Who's in charge now?

Hi! This is Maddie. I told Mommy now that I'm four months old, I should be able to run my own blog. I do have a lot of things to say and Mommy has been a little slow telling you about all of the cool things I do every day. Mommy agreed to let me have a go at blogging so here I am.

I've been a pretty busy girl lately. I went to my cousin Caitlyn's birthday party a few weekends ago and had a great time. Pa told me to keep giving my parents a hard time. I might take him up on that advice. Mommy told me I shouldn't listen to what Pa says.

Mommy and Daddy took me to see Dr. Thomas again last week for my shots. What a way for a girl to celebrate her four-month birthday! Yuck. I didn't like it when the nurse tried to measure my head and I really didn't like it when she stuck needles in my thighs. How rude. Daddy helped calm me down though by walking me around the exam room and singing my special song, "Sweet Madison" (just like Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" only better).

Dr. Thomas says I'm growing, growing, growing. I now weigh 12 lbs. 12 oz. and am 23.5 inches tall. I'm pretty average with those measurements, but my head is in the 85th percentile. I guess that's good because I need a lot of room to store my smarts.

Dr. T. also said I could try some rice cereal if Mommy and Daddy felt I was ready. I think I'm definitely ready to try new things. I'm a big girl after all. Here are some photos of me eating my cereal.

I don't think rice cereal tastes all that great. Mommy tried it and said it tastes like paper mache paste. I don't know what paper mache paste is, but it's probably yucky. Mommy says that we might try some oatmeal soon. I sure hope that tastes better.

Here's me helping Daddy with the spoon. As you can see, I'm already a pro. Mommy and Daddy didn't even have to tell me what to do with it.

Bring on the steak and potatoes! Oh, and the cheesecake. I hear that's some really good stuff.
