Masterpiece #3: Green and Orange

I made this lovely drawing today and taught Mommy a thing or two about art. As you can see, her purple circle and red square just don't do anything for this drawing. They lack the expressive line quality and energy that my lines do. I was feeling inspired so I added some drool. I think it gives a nod to Jackson Pollack's abstract expressionism, don't you think?

[Note from Mommy: And, if you'll look closely, you can see Maddie was quite fond of the green crayon today. I had to pry it from her mouth! Ick!]

Brilliant!! I love it. You should think about submitting some of her work in your local county fair next year. Tessa has submitted fingerpaintings the past two years. She won both times! She beat out some little five-year old girl the first time...it was great. That's awful, isn't it? Well, she had her picture all wrinkled and looking like toilet paper by the time she submitted it. Mommy was smart, she framed Tessa's. Hah! Hopefully, when Tessa gets older, she'll look forward to creating something for the fair every year. It's good fun. ;o)

Yay for Tessa! What a budding artist. We haven't ventured into fingerpaints just yet because Maddie is still in the "stick everything in my mouth" phase. I'm looking forward to it though. I was thinking about letting her do fingerpainting with pudding or Jello. I've heard other folks doing this and thought we'd give it a shot.
