Who's in charge now?

Hi! This is Maddie. I told Mommy now that I'm four months old, I should be able to run my own blog. I do have a lot of things to say and Mommy has been a little slow telling you about all of the cool things I do every day. Mommy agreed to let me have a go at blogging so here I am.

I've been a pretty busy girl lately. I went to my cousin Caitlyn's birthday party a few weekends ago and had a great time. Pa told me to keep giving my parents a hard time. I might take him up on that advice. Mommy told me I shouldn't listen to what Pa says.

Mommy and Daddy took me to see Dr. Thomas again last week for my shots. What a way for a girl to celebrate her four-month birthday! Yuck. I didn't like it when the nurse tried to measure my head and I really didn't like it when she stuck needles in my thighs. How rude. Daddy helped calm me down though by walking me around the exam room and singing my special song, "Sweet Madison" (just like Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" only better).

Dr. Thomas says I'm growing, growing, growing. I now weigh 12 lbs. 12 oz. and am 23.5 inches tall. I'm pretty average with those measurements, but my head is in the 85th percentile. I guess that's good because I need a lot of room to store my smarts.

Dr. T. also said I could try some rice cereal if Mommy and Daddy felt I was ready. I think I'm definitely ready to try new things. I'm a big girl after all. Here are some photos of me eating my cereal.

I don't think rice cereal tastes all that great. Mommy tried it and said it tastes like paper mache paste. I don't know what paper mache paste is, but it's probably yucky. Mommy says that we might try some oatmeal soon. I sure hope that tastes better.

Here's me helping Daddy with the spoon. As you can see, I'm already a pro. Mommy and Daddy didn't even have to tell me what to do with it.

Bring on the steak and potatoes! Oh, and the cheesecake. I hear that's some really good stuff.

Oh, holy cow...eating solids already. What a big girl!! I can't believe she's gotten so big already. She's a real cutie too.

Tessa turned one on May 5th. Sigh. No more baby, got a toddler on my hands now. Sigh. I love this new girl, but miss the old one too.

PS - Don't know if you have one, but we loved our Bebe Pod Plus (ordered ours through walmart.com...had it sent to store) for feeding time until she weas about 10 months old...we also took it when we ate out...until she could use the high chairs. I think Bumbo Chair makes an attachable tray now too.

Also, I noticed you have a crib like ours...just a different color, I think. We had a real problem with it squeaking when we put the side up...would wake her up a lot. Just use a stick of wax (like what you find in the canning jar section) to wax the sliding mechanisms on the crib. Works like a charm.

Not that you asked...hah, hah, hah!!
