The Poopsmith

So I've found myself talking a lot about poop lately. There was a time not so long ago when I would have never even uttered this word. Matt and I never spoke of poop. Now the word flies easily from my lips many times a day.

"Maddie, do you have a poopy diaper?"

"Let's get the poopy out of there."

Poopy, poopy, poop. I think I must really be losing it now. I'll blame it on the sleep deprivation.

So in the course of dealing with so much poop, the Poopsmith has somehow appeared on the scene. As Maddie is straining and turning red while "making a diaper," we've taken to telling her that the Poopsmith will need to make a visit when she's done. The Poopsmith is the guy who deals with the poopy diapers, and he often has his work cut out for him. Matt has even modified the "Mr. Sandman" song to be about good old Mr. Poopsmith. (BTW, he's also created a new version of Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' called 'Bridge Over Poopy Water' --- something we really want to avoid at bath time.)

I know, you guys think this is totally weird. Just remember, in my family we have the "Birthday Man" and the "Valentine Man." If these guys can deliver birthday presents and valentines then why can't the Poopsmith deliver us from the poop?

Hehehehe! I had friends who told me, pre-Miles, that poopy would become a very common topic of conversation, and sometimes in great detail. It's true!
